Mylah

Mylah is sweetest baby around and her mama says “You have creative freedom, do your thing.” I of course had to go all out with the most “extra” cake smash I’ve ever done! We did the theme Sweet One as a play on her sweet vibe, but also because she LOVES to eat!

I had a whole different set design in mind, but when I went to pick up my cake order (I always do white cake, white buttercream, naked cakes that are 5” petite from the local grocery store) I saw this cake in the display and it changed EVERYTHING. I ditched my standard naked cake and went straight for this extravagant cake. I decided to switch the set design from a colorful backdrop with lots of themed props to something simple so the cake stood out a bit more.

I think this is one of my favorite sets I have ever done. Allowing full creative control can make for the best sessions because I don’t feel limited to what your inspiration photos are. Having a theme in mind is great, but showing me inspiration photos can be so limiting because I feel obligated to recreate the same set.
